I forgot to mention that this problem can be caused by bad cache memory chips which should be replaced if possible. There is no great performance loss with turning off the external cache but the internal cache is very important for maintaining overall performance.

Computer unexpectedly reboots under OS/2, this does not occur under DOS/Win3.1, no errors or traps occur.

Award VL/I-486V2G Green PC motherboard. This problem could also occur with other boards.

Procedure

First if you have a green board and have the APM (power managment) installed, rem out the lines loading APM.SYS and VAPM.SYS. The APM was really designed for laptops and not personal computers.
